Funeral services for Edith L. Evenrud, 68, R6, Decorah, were held Saturday at 1 pm at Glenwood Lutheran Church,with the Rev. Landis Olson presiding.
Mrs. Evenrud died Thursday at the Veteran's Memorial Hospital in Waukon.
Martin Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roger Espe, Orville [Orval] Loven, Howard Hanson, Adolph Ruen, Austin Moen, & Arnold Dahlen.
Organist was Mrs. Syvilla Bolson. Hymns included "Just as I Am," Amazing Grace," & "Abide with Me."
Edith Lorraine Tyler was born Jan. 1, 1918, in Decorah Township, Winneshiek County, the daughter of Ida Rose Margreta Schimming & Albert Leonard Tyler. She was educated in the Decorah schools & after graduating taught at the Richards School in Pleasant Townhip & the Blake School in Frankville Townhip. She married Hayward James Evenrud Oct. 5, 1940, at the Glenwood Church. The couple noted their 45th wedding anniversary in October 1985.
In addition to her active role in the family farm, she was a caring wife & mother. She enjoyed music & played the piano with her family band in her days as a young girl in the Clay Hill community. She accompanied numerous groups & soloists at church & community functions in the Decorah area. She served the Glenwood Church for many years as a Sunday school teacher, ladies guild officer, & musical accompanist.
Mrs. Evenrud is survived by her husband; 2 children, Loren of Minneapolis & Mrs. Mark (Nancy) Winholtz of Elizabethtown, KY; 5 granchildren; & 3 brothers, Leonard Tyler of Rock Island, IL, Ralph Tyler of Sioux Falls, SD, & Spencer Tyler of Decorah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, Gary; & a sister in infancy.

Edith & Hayward had 3 children together: Gary David (1941-1941), Loren Anthony (1943-), & Nancy Lynn (1954-).
