Margie Irene (Evans) Spillman, age 90 and a lifetime resident of Rockwall, TX, passed away September 1, 2011. She was born December 29, 1920 in DeSoto, MS, to George Washington Evans & Alice Izora (Brewer) Evans. Margie owned and operated the Spillman Childcare Center in Rockwall for 34 years. She enjoyed cooking and baking and caring for children.
Margie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rockwall.
She is survived by her son, James T. Jr. daughter, V. Jeanette Spillman, grandchildren, Terri L. Watkins, Heather K. Morris & husband Max , J.Travis Spillman & wife Michele, P.J. Spillman, and Lindsey Spillman, and great grandchildren, Grace, Ella and Sutton Spillman. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Max, George and Harold Evans; and sister, Aileen Terry.
Funeral services were held 10:00am, Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at First Baptist Church, ML Jones Chapel, 610 S. Goliad, Rockwall, TX, with Pastor Steve Swofford and Jesse Crouch officiating.
Margie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rockwall.
