Denny Eugene Evans, 74 went home to be with the Lord on May 29, 2012. He was born to Oscar and Jenny Bethea (Gair) Evans on September 18, 1937 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Beloved Husband, Father and Pa Pa was a resident of Norman since 1981 and passed away after a long illness at Norman Regional Hospital. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1999 where he was employed as a hazardous cargo inspector. He served in the United States Air Force from 1957 through 1961 at Harlingen Air Force Base in Texas where he met Dawn Paulette Fulcher. She became his bride on August 3, 1959. He will be greatly missed by his Wife Dawn, his daughters, Linda and Shelley of Oklahoma City and Son-in-law Brian Britt; his beloved Grandchildren Landres Dwayne and Leslie Dawn; Sister Darlyn Folmar of Tallahoma, Tennessee; and Sisters-inlaw Jo Green of Alamo, Texas, Billie Eden of Austin, Texas and Wanda Kellogg of San Benito, Texas. He was preceded in death by his sisters Dorothy Freed, Doris Baney, Doreen Evans and Duella Charles, all of Williamsport, Pennsylvania and Brothers Dean of Williamsport, Pennsylvania and Dale of Seattle Washington.
Visitation will be held 9:00 am to 8:00 pm Saturday, June 2, 2012 and 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, June 3, 2012 with the family greeting friends from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Havenbrook Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held 10:00 am, Monday, June 4, 2012 at Immanuel Baptist Church, where he was a long time member, 1289 Northcliff Ave, Norman with interment following in the Denver Cemetery in Norman. Arrangements for Denny and his family were placed in the care of the Vice Family at Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
