Margaret Laurine Evans

Margaret Laurine Evans, 93, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, in Winter Park, Fla. She was a resident of Winter Park and a former resident of Lafayette, Shoals and Edinburgh.

She was born Nov. 24, 1907, in Barrydale. Her parents were Ocsar Michael and Anna Thressa (Burns) Reppert. She married Isaac Walter "Bus" Evans on June 20, 1928, in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1996. Survivors include a son, former U.S. Congressman David W. "Dave" Evans of Bethesda, Md.; and one granddaughter.

She attended Brook and Goodland public schools and Lafayette Business College.

She was employed as a secretary by Dr. Arthur F. Bauer. She was also a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park, Fla.

The Rev. Robert Klemme will conduct a Mass at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Cathedral in Lafayette. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hahn Funeral Home in Lafayette with a wake service at 5 p.m. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Lafayette.
