John Michael Evanoff was born April 1st, 1915 to Sam and Anna Miltich Evanoff, as their oldest child. He married Floretta Dovvie Birch,(my Dad's sister) and they had one child, a daughter, Loretta Anne.
What can I say about my Uncle Johnny? Aunt Fluff was warm and loving...he was a big kid! He was so good with all of us, his nieces and nephews, and our children and grandchildren! I have so many memories of him!
When we would have campfires, and the smoke would follow us everywhere... he had all of us convinced that if we chanted "I hate rabbits" the smoke would go the other way. I bet he got a real kick out of all of us doing just that; funny thing, it seemed to work! Ha! Ha!
Another memory is him playing his harmonica. We would all sit around him while he played tune after tune! He was really good!
For the little ones, he had a pocket puppet in his shirt pocket. It was a little squirrel, and he would entertain the children for hours.
Aunt Fluff passed away in 2004, and he seemed to fade after that. They were married in 1938, so were together a very long time! 66 years.
You were the best, Uncle Johnny; may you rest well now that you are with your beloved Fluff again. I will miss you more than I can say!
