Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 6, 2011, at a 12:00 noon Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, LA, for Frank Pardue Etier, 85, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings, LA. Interment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery.

Reverend O. Joseph Breaux, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Kendall Etier and Jane Fournet. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "Be Not Afraid", "On Eagles' Wings", "How Great Thou Art" and "Battle Hymn of the Republic".

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Dorothy Soileau Etier and his daughter, Leslie Ann Etier; and his parents, William and Emma Etier.

Survivors include his son Brian E. Etier, Sr. and his wife Connie and; three grandchildren, Kendall M. Etier, Dr. Brian E. Etier, Jr. and his wife Lauren and Brandt E. Etier; one great grandchild, Ainsley Grace Etier; one sister, Annie Eaves; and two brothers, Carey Etier and James Etier.

A native of Hebert, LA, and a longtime resident of Lafayette, Frank was Secretary-Treasurer and comptroller for Horace B. Rickey, Inc. for over 30 years and also worked with his son in public accounting for over 20 years.

Mr. Etier served his country in the U.S. Navy in World War II and was a very proud American. Frank had a wide range of accomplishments but is most remembered by his family for his work ethic, his encouragement to become the best at your chosen profession, the love for his camp in Lake Arthur, and his love for his children and grand-children. "Paw Paw" was known for his "easy-going" personality and he has passed this wonderful trait to his son and grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brian Etier, Jr., Brandt Etier, Adam Angers, Drue Fournet, David Van Geffen and Carey Etier.

Honorary Pallbearer will be James Etier.

A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, May 5, 2011, at 6:30 PM in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday, May 5, 2011, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Friday, May 6, 2011, from 7:00 AM until time of services.

Memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Etier's name to Heart of Hospice, 201 W. Vermilion Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, LA. 70501.
