Mrs. Matilda Ann Ethridge Allday, 80 of Wayross, passed away Sunday morning, October 26, 2014, at Community Hospice of Vidalia.
Born in Union, MS on November 14, 1933, she had lived in Pineville, LA for many years before moving to Waycross in late 2000. She had worked as a private duty LPN for the former Memorial Hospital in Waycross in the ‘60’s & ‘70’s and was of the Baptist faith.
She was a daughter of the late Joe Benjamin & Maggie Thomas Ethridge. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sims Calvin Allday; and all three of her sisters.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Sharmon & Jewell Allday of Blackshear and Joe Allday of Vidalia; 5 grandchildren, Amy Allday, Jason (Brandi) Allday, Joely (Josh) Chaney, Jake (Michelle) Allday, and Josh Allday; 8 great grandchildren, Kennedy Brice, Lindsay Allday, Brooks Allday, Laura Kate Chaney, Bella Grace Chaney, Faith Allday, Caroline Allday,and Ansley Allday; and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.
The family will have a funeral service in Union, MS at a later date.
