Mahoning Dispatch, Fri, 28 Jan 1881
"Home and County News - Last week Wednesday afternoon, Christian Esterly, a farmer aged about 64 years, who in the north part of Green township, near Loveland Station, died rather suddenly of disease of the heart. He was apparently in good health, and went upstairs for some purpose, but not returning as soon as was expected, some member of the family went up to find out what detained him, when he was found in an unconscious condition lying on the floor. Everything possible was done to bring the sufferer to consciousness, but without avail. He died in a few minutes afterward without speaking a word. He was a well-to-do- farmer and leaves his family comfortable circumstances."

"Greenford - Christian Esterly, farmer and old citizen, was buried last week. The cause of Mr. Esterly's death was apoplexy."
