Pvt. Wm Erskine served with Batty A 1st West Virginia (Union) Light Artillery during the Civil War of 1861-65. His Simple Military Head stone are one of the Few that do show at least the Date of Death (Nevada state Archives told me the rest) He died on Sept. 23rd 1899 at age 54 of Miners Lung (Stone dust chest) and Consumption. The copy of his Death Certificate is from the state archives.
The attached photo of William Erskine C-1862 is Courtesy of the Fredrick Hazell Collection, Who was Kind enough to let me copy it for this Bio.
