Mrs. Brockway's maiden name was Elvina Erisman. She was born in Middletown, Pa. Aug 1, 1838. With her parents, she came to Illinois in 1856. For a short time the family lived at Monticello, moving to Decatur in 1857 and this has been her home ever since. She and John A. Brockway were married here Nov. 7, 1860.
She is survived by the following children: William E. Brockway, Fred C. Brockway, John A. Brockway Jr. and Miss Minnie Brockway, all of Decatur; Frank L. Brockway of Los Angeles, Ca. and Albert W. Brockway of Pittsburgh, Pa. She also leaves the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. B.F. Doty and Miss Ellen Erisman of Decatur, Florence Padgett of Decatur, William H. Erisman of Storm City,Kan., Edward Erisman of Oklahoma City and Harry Erisman of Springfield,Mo. and Mrs. Margaret Allison of Boston, Mass.
