Birth: Sep. 15, 1897
Death: Aug. 6, 1980

Edna Ruth Erickson was born September 15, 1897 at Clay Point, Clay county, South Dakota, the daughter of Erick B. and Maren Louise Andreasdatter Erickson and crossed the threshold of Heaven August 6, 1980.
As a small child, Edna moved with her family to Norway twp., near Meckling where she started school in 1903. The family then moved to Mission Hill until about 1911 when they returned to the original Erickson homestead in sec. #2, Garfield twp. Edna was married April 28, 1917 to Clarence O. Clark at Huron and first made their home at Cottonwood, South Dakota until the spring of 1919 when they returned to Clay county and farmed southwest of Beresford. They retired in 1958 and in 1975 moved to Alcester. In 1979 Edna became a resident of Morningside Manor in Alcester where she was residing at the time of death.
Edna was an active member of the Dalesburg Baptist Church, Women's Missionary Society, Sunday School and all aspects of parish ministry. She was a blessing to all who knew her by the life of love, the example and guidance as a wonderful creation of God.
Among the survivors who gratefully shared her liife are her husband, Clarence; four sons, Leland P. of Mission Hill, Alvine R. of LeMars, Iowa, Jay D. of Alcester and Gerald M. of St Paul, Minnesota; three daughters, June H. (Mrs. Russell Simpson) of Rogers, Arkansas, Kay A. (Mrs True Salvis) of Rapid City, and Clarys E. (Mrs. Robert Peterson) also of St Paul, Minnesota; twenty grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Lois L. Wilbur, one son, Clarence Curtis, two sisters, Anna Steinbach and Esther Johnson and one brother, Oskar Andersen.
The memory of the righteous is a blessing. Proverbs 10:7
