Helen was born the daughter of Marquis and Grace (Hamilton) Brooks, the first of five children. She attended Barnes Business College in Denver, Colorado. She retired after 18 years as an employee of May D & F.
On February 28, 1928 she was married to Mauritz G. Erickson. To this union two sons were born, Roy Joe and Kent. Mauritz preceded her in death on March 15, 1977.
Surviving Helen are her two sons and five grandchildren.
