Alfred Herman Erickson was born on November 12, 1919 to Herman and Julia (Johnson) Erickson in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
On January 1, 1941, Alfred and Sarah Isabel Wilcox were united in marriage at Storm Lake, Iowa.
Alfred served in the Army from 1942 to 1945. He was a carpenter for many years and then went to work for T.S.P. in 1959 as a Field Inspector and Contract Administrator. After 25 years of service, he retired in 1984.
Alfred enjoyed sports of all kinds all of his life. He also loved hunting and fishing and sharing his catches. He loved to garden and grow the biggest and best produce.
Grateful for sharing his life are his daughters, Dian Jean Kahlo, of Howells, Nebraska, and Nanci L. Wright, of Rapid City, South Dakota; 6 grandchildren; his sister, Wilma Main, of Ellis, South Dakota; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; 4 sisters; and 1 brother.
Memorials may be directed to Make-A-Wish Foundation or First Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday at First Christian Church with visitation 1 hr prior at the church. Interment immediately following at Hills of Rest Memorial Park.
