Adolph Elroy "Bud" Ericksen

Adolph Elroy "Bud" Ericksen departed from us on Tuesday September 23, 2008 under Hospice care at age 82. He was born in 1926 to Adolph and Matilda Ericksen in Denmark, Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife, Marion, four children, John (Katie), Jim (Stephanie), Dawn and Debbie Ericksen. Grandchildren are Dominic Picciuto, Wesley and Kendall Ericksen. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Raymond, Edmond (Phylis), Jeanette (Verne), and Esther. Siblings, Gladys (Tom) Kiser, Harold (Ellynn) Ericksen and many friends remain to mourn. Bud was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather, always having time for community needs. He served the community through his church, children's school, Little League and Boy Scouts. He also gave much as a United Methodist lay speaker. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Business School, where he was head waiter at the student union. He later went on to the University of Connecticut for his MBA. Bud received many forms of recognition starting with one for Outstanding Citizen in high school, several as a church leader and community leader. Bud demonstrated dedication as an educator and mentor through his work with Junior Achievement, SCORE and Sacred Heart University. Hobbies were reading, gardening, cooking, singing in the church choir and watching spectator sports. His most recent church membership is with River of Life United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. Bud was first employed by the Marathon Paper Corporation, then American Can taking his family to Connecticut. He then worked with Georgia Pacific in Atlanta, Georgia until retirement. Immediately after retirement, Bud and Marion made Barnstable, Massachusetts and St. Augustine, Florida their homes for eight years. His last move after retirement was to Westminster Woods Independent Living Community in Jacksonville, Florida. A memorial service was held on September 26 at Westminster Woods in Jacksonville, Florida. Another service is scheduled for this Friday, October 3, 11AM at the Concordia United Methodist Church in Prairie du Sac,Wisconsin (visitation from 10-11). Internment will be in the Prairie du Sac cemetery. Family members express appreciation to Reverend Kim Cott, Reverend Neil Anderson, River of Life, Jacksonville, Fl. as well as Reverend Jeff Virchow, Concordia United Methodist Church, Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin and many services of Westminster Woods, Jacksonville.
