OBIT- YORK Kathryn R. (Eppley) Alagood 74, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 7, 2007, after a brief, but brave, battle with cancer. Kathryn was born January 5, 1933, in Red Lion, to the late Henry Clay and Flora (Gruver) Eppley. She is survived by six children whom she adored, Michael E. Brown of York, James Alagood and his wife, Melanie of Red Lion, Dennis Alagood of Hanover, Rick Alagood of Red Lion, Donna Alagood of York, and Terry Scott and her husband, Douglas of Camp Hill; as well as six loving grandchildren, Holly Briese, Troy Alagood, Chad Alagood, Matthew Alagood, Andrew Scott, and Lauren Scott; and two adorable great-grandchildren, Jared and Ryan Briese. She is survived by two beautiful sisters, Grace Sourbier of York and Mary Williams of Petersburg, Va. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Eppley, whom she lovingly cared for until his death, and Kenneth Eppley; and two sisters, Jean Barshinger and Esther Huff. She retired after 40 years of faithful service to the Lafayette Club of York. She loved spending time with family and friends, and especially enjoyed playing cards. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Joel Petruschke, of Grace Lutheran Church, Camp Hill, officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Kathryn Alagood Memorial, c/o Grace Lutheran Church, 1610 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011. All donations will benefit the American Cancer Society through the Relay for Life Program. Kathryn's grandchildren will be part of a Relay for Life team to raise awareness and funds to fight cancer, sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
