George Flemming Ensley was born on August
2, 1868 at Waublo, Missouri and departed this
life on October 8, 1948 at the age of 80 years
2 months and 6 days.

He came to Kansas when a small child with
his parents and lived in the Axtell and Bailey-
ville neighborhood until he grew to manhood.

He was united in marriage to Jane Walker on
October 22, 1891 and to this union was born
nine children. His wife and one son Jay
preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Methodist church of
Bigelow, Kansas, where he lived for a number
of years and considered this his home.

He was ill such a short time but suffered so
much we couldn't wish him to stay with us
longer.

Even though he was 80 years of age he never
missed a day walking to town to visit and
swap stories with his many friends who passed
through the filling station or Jim Hannon's
store.

He is survived by eight children and 19 grand-
children and 29 great-grandchildren; two
sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

The children who are left to mourn the loss of
their father are two sons, Joe Ensley, Welda,
Kansas, John Ensley, Irving, Kansas; six
daughters, Mrs. Mary Carter, Lebanon, Mrs.
Mae Cronk, Bigelow, Mrs. Florence Kelly,
Blue Rapids, Mrs. Violet Carter, Irving, Mrs.
Daisy Hilton, Irving, Mrs. Golda Wells, of
Marysville; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Murback,
St. Mary's, Mrs. Sarah, Whally, Goff.
