Harry R. (Hal) Ensign
Harry Reed Ensign was born May 3, 1923 to Harry George and Violet Reed Ensign in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He died of complications following surgery on Dec. 21, 2000. Graduated from South High School. Attended U of U. and graduated from Curtis-Wright in California as an Aeronautical Engineer.

Married Marguerite (Marge) Hubbard on Dec. 17, 1946.

He was Chief Engineer of Thalman Aircraft Company. Worked for Lang Company, Stearns-Rogers and then was employed by Unisys for 30 years as, Design Engineer, Working on many experimental projects. While employed by Unisys he spent two years on the Apollo Project in Florida.

Hal was a member of the Civilian Air Patrol as a young man. An avid modeler, he constructed many miniature planes, automobiles, and soldiers from different eras. All carefully and exquisitely done.

Harry served as Exalted Ruler of the BPOE Lodge #85 in 1976-77 and was a member of Cottonwood Lodge 2344.

He is survived by his wife Marguerite, brother-in-law Joseph Wall and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to niece Terry Ingleby for being so supportive.

Preceded in death by parents and only sister Margery Emery.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, 12 noon at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State, where friends may call Tuesday one hour prior to services. Funeral to be conducted by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Cottonwood Lodge 2344.

Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
