Natalie Theophila Enright was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to John Henry and Mary Agnes Conneally Enright. She was the fourth of five children.

What's neat is she married Paul Logan Mackie (October 7, 1935) also the fourth of five children.

It gets even better. Her younger brother, John R. Enright, married Paul's younger sister, Anne (Nan) R. Mackie. The fifth child marrying the fifth child. So, we off-spring of these two unions (all seven of us) are truly double cousins. No matter how you slice it, we have the same grandparents on both sides. No one is an in-law. Pretty awesome genealogy!

Natalie went to a private Catholic school for her last year of high school. There she met Elinor Healy, a dear friend. Paul and Nat met at the Berkshire Atheneum (the public library) in Pittsfield. Natalie was giving a lecture about her trip to Europe with her sister, Marie Enright Hardart. A mutual friend, Ed McKenna, introduced Paul to Nat.

Natalie and Paul Mackie had two children. Charles Dickerson Mackie II was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, November 29, 1936. Natalie Carol Mackie was born in Westfield, Massachusetts, December 3, 1937.
