Beatrice B. Ennis, 97, of Fort Dodge, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008 at Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Sunny Dominic officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be at a later date in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where there will be Legion of Mary Rosary at 4:30 p.m.

Surviving is her son, Dan Berry and his wife Carol Ann of Iowa City; daughters, Phyllis Johnson and her husband Robert of Albuquerque, N.M., Joyce (Ennis) Coughlon of Des Moines; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Minnie (Behrens) Kane; her first husband Phillip Berry; her second husband Gerald (Sandy) Ennis; brothers, Edward and Harry Kane; sisters Margaret Walrod, Marie Selix, and Gretchen Huratin; and an infant brother Michael D.
Beatrice B. Kane was born Aug. 23, 1910 in Fort Dodge where she attended school. She was united in marriage to Phillip Berry in 1929 and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Bea was a homemaker for several years. In 1936, she and Phillip divorced. Bea was employed in the retail clothing business, working at Fantles and later at Lillians for many years. On Dec. 24, 1943 she married Gerald (Sandy) Ennis. Bea retired in 1976 and for the next few years, she and Sandy enjoyed traveling together. They spent most of their time visiting their children and grandchildren.

Bea's family would especially like to thank the staff at the Marian Home and also to recognize Jessie Schuster for all her help.

Memorials may be left to the Marian Home.
