Lois owned and operated The Howard Shop women's clothing store for many years. She also worked for Exline's, The Salina Board of Trade and Plainsman Supply Company. Lois was a homemaker and an avid bridge player.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her parents; and three sisters, Berniece, Eunice and Goldie. Survivors included one son, Ralph Befort; two daughters, Judy Smith and Jeanette Ludeke; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
