Nancy E. Cox, age 77, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Friday, January 21, 2011 after a long and courageous battle against cancer.
Born August 4, 1933 to Florence and Howard Eng in Seattle, Washington, Nancy will be remembered for her courageous spirit, strength of character, sense of humor, love of travel and adventure, and unrelenting devotion to her family and friends. She was always happiest when she was surrounded by loved ones, entertaining and indulging in good food, lively conversation, and laughter.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband James E. Cox, siblings, Darrel (wife Linda) and Shirley Eng, her devoted children Kirk Wong, Eric Wong (wife Tami), Kristin (husband Stephen) Embury, and her two adored grandchildren, Nicole and Michelle Embury.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 29 at The Orinda Community Church, 10 Irwin Way, Orinda, CA 94563. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1965 Reliez Valley Rd, Lafayette, CA. Immediately following the burial, family and friends are welcome to join a Celebration of Life reception in the Independence Room at The Lafayette Park Hotel, 3287 Mount Diablo Boulevard, Lafayette, CA 94549.
