Manuel Encinias, age 69, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, New Mexico passed away on Wednesday, July 6,2011 at the Alta Vista Regional Hospital in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He was born on September 6, 1941 in Dahlia, New Mexico to Jose N. Encinias and Adelia Baca-Encinias. He was united in marriage on July 28, 1962 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico to Theresa Marquez. He retired in 1990 from the State Highway Department as a Sign Crew Foreman after thirty two years. Manuel was a hard worker and liked staying busy. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, always making sure they had a full tummy, that was his priority. He shared many jokes, laughs and was such a character. He was always listening to music and taking a cruise. He took regular trips to the Santuario that were always followed by a trip to the Casino, these were his favorite places. A lifelong Catholic, and member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jose N. and Adelia B. Encinias; brothers: Casimiro, Henry, Evaristo, Robert and Frank; father and mother-in law: Juan and Paula Marquez; brothers-in-law: Joe and Johnny; sister-in-law: Magdalena M. Chavez. He is survived by his wife: Theresa Marquez-Encinias of Las Vegas, NM; sons and daughters: Debra D. Encinias-Trujillo and (John), and Jerome M. Encinias both of Las Vegas, NM; Brenda M. Encinias-Villegas and (Conrad) of Deming, NM; Arlene Encinias and (Donald), Andrea Encinias-Castellano and (Mel) John Paul Trujillo and (Christina) and daughter-in-law Crystal Encinias all of Las Vegas, NM; grandchildren: Pamela A. Trujillo, Manuel Jerome Encinias, Jude Encinias, Jayden Encinias, Andrew Encinias, Aaron Encinias, Fermin Villegas, and Erica J. Moberg; great-grandchildren: Jasmine A. Trujillo, Kaylee M. Trujillo, Naomi Encinias, Theodore Encinias, Janet Encinias; brother and sisters: Joe Encinias and Margaret, of Las Vegas, NM; Frances Maestas and Gene of Las Vegas, NM; and Helen Gallegos of Albuquerque, NM; sisters-in-law: Esme Zamora of Panhandle, TX; and Rose Lopez of Santa Rosa, NM; special friends: Jesus Montoya and Adrian Ortega; numerous: nieces, nephews, other relatives and many other friends. Rosary service will be held on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 7:00 pm at the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 9:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment will be held at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM with the following serving as casket bearers: John Paul Trujillo, Aaron Encinias, Pamela A. Trujillo, Erica J. Moberg, Andrew Encinias, and Manuel Jerome Encinias. Serving as honorary bearers will be all his remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
