Son of W/O Conrad and Sarah ( Fisher) Emery.
In 1819 they moved to Wayne Co, OH. Conrad and Sarah remained in Stark Co, IL.
He married Margaret Pounds on 28 March 1833. Their 7 children are listed with Margaret.
In 1853 Dr. Emery came to Doyle Twp, Clarke Co, IA and in 1855 he and David Newton laid out the town of Hopeville.[taken from book Historic Hopeville and vicinity compiled by Dorothy Jones & Kathy Parmenter in 1982]
He served 16 months in the Civil War in Co B 5th MO SM.
He died age 83 years 6 months and 1 day.
