She was born April 17th, 1934 in Seneca, SC to Jeff & Alteena Gibson Smith. She was married to the late George Ray Emerson. Dot was a homemaker by trade. She is preceded in death by her parents, spouse, sisters, Gladys Davis, Bessie Edmonds & Inez Cates. She is survived by sons, Timmey & Heather Emerson & Kem J. Emerson. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, Sept. 20th, 2014 at Brown-Oglesby Chapel with Rev. Scottie Owens & Rev. Shawn Street officiating with burial to follow in Old Hepsibah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, Sept. 19th, 2014. Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home is assisting the family.
