1805 - death of wife, Susannah.
1811 - Owned property in what is known as the Tauxemont Historic District, Alexandria, Va. Aquilla purchased 169 ½ acres of land on July 5, 1811, which, except for two very small parcels sold to George Mason of Hollin Hall in 1839 and 1840, remained in his possession until his death. Following Aquilla's death, the property was disputed for years in the courts.
1818 (Nov. 26) - Married second wife, Drayden "Drady" Hebb Coad; she being the widow of John Coad.
1832 (June 3) - death of second wife, "Drady".
1834 - Alexandria Directory: "Emerson, Acquila, Grocer, cor Potomac & Wolf Sts."
1846 - Voted in favor of act to retrocede the County of Alexandria, in the District of Columbia, to the Commonwealth of Virginia, in September 1846.
