Florence L. Emanuel Betts 98, was born to the late Will and Lugenia Emanuel on September 1, 1914 in Bainbridge, GA. Florence met Henry L. Betts and they married on July 23, 1932. To this union they were blessed with twelve children, four preceding her in death, Johnnie Lee, Ruby Jean, Betty Jean and Ulysses "Bobby" Betts.
Florence was an active member of the 13th Street Church of God, where she served as a mother of the church.
On Saturday, August 24, 2013, the Angel of Death was dispatched to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center (in Fort Pierce, FL), to usher the soul of Mother Florence L Emanuel-Betts to her eternal home. At 3:37pm Mother Florence L Emanuel-Betts quietly and peacefully departed this life where she labored for the Master from the dawn 'till the setting of the sun, surrounded by the love and tears of her family.
Survivors include: Sons: Cleotha (Mattie) Betts and William Carl Betts of Fort Pierce, FL; Daughters: Annie Osby, Lillie Davis, Ceola Kitt, Marjorie Gaskin, Priscilla Dickey, Patricia (Nathaniel) Morris, and Adrienne Blakely Dover of Fort Pierce, FL; Daughter-in-Law: Mozella Betts; Brothers: Oscar Emanuel of West Palm Beach, FL and Charles Emanuel of Melbourne, FL; Sister: Daisy Baker of Snead, FL, 33 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, 32 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.
Services: Visitation will be held 3 to 6PM Friday August 30, 2013 at the 13th Street Church of God. A wake will be held from 6PM - 7PM Friday August 30, 2013 at 13th Street Church of God, INC. Greater Faith. A Home Going service will be held 11AM Saturday August 31, 2013 at 13th Street Church of God, INC. Greater Faith, Fort Pierce. She will await the resurrection at Riverview Memorial Park, Fort Pierce.
