Born in Holmdel, Mrs Atwater lived most of her life in the Red Bank area. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Red Bank.
Mrs Atwater was the director of fund raising of the American Cancer Society for Monmouth County from 1947-59.
Her husband, Benjamin L. Atwater, died in 1943.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Atwater Critton of Suffield, Conn.; three sisters, Mrs. Ira E King and Mrs. John Hyssong, both of Greenville, N.C. and Mrs. Norman H. Roberts here, and three grandchildren.
The Adams Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
