She was born Oct. 2, 1943, in Paulding, the daughter of Lewis L. and Helen M. (Longstreth) Elston. On June 26, 1965, she married Jerry Balser, who survives. She was employed as an X-ray technician for 35 years, and was a member of the Antwerp United Methodist Church.
Also surviving are a son, Wade of Cleveland; a daughter, Sheila Hilton of Antwerp; one brother, Lewis Elston of Middle Point; three sisters, Bonnie Clemens and Maxine Treece, both of Paulding, and Carolyn Roth of Tilton, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Scott Balser; and a sister, Ruth Stoller.
Services were held Monday, June 2, at the Antwerp United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gregory Swann and the Rev. Thomas Ketzler officiating. Burial was in the Maumee Cemetery in Antwerp. Dooley Funeral Home in Antwerp was in charge of the arrangements. Preferred memorials are to the Antwerp United Methodist Church or Hospice of the Paulding Area VNA.
