Funeral services of Mrs. Mary Elmer Brooks, widow of the Rev. Walter A. Brooks, D.D., which will be conducted at her home, 224 West State Street by the Rev. Francis Palmer, pastor of the Prospect Street Presbyterian Church, will be private and interment will be made under dirrection of Ivins & Taylor.

Mrs. Brooks died yesterday afternoon. She was born in Bridgeton, N.J. and was the eldest daughter of the late Judge John T. Nixon and a granddaughter of the late Judge L.Q.C. Elmer. She had been ill about a week.

Mrs. Brooks was actively interested in the work of the Prospect Street Church of which her husband was first pastor. She was also interested in the work of Mercer Hospital, the Needlework Guild and many other charities. A son, John Nixon Brooks, survives.
