She graduated from Meadville High School in 1934, then attended Meadville Commercial College. She worked for Viscose from 1935 to 1941. She then worked in the stenographic department at Talon Inc. and retired in 1952.
She was a member of numerous Townville organizations, including the women's club, widows club, senior citizens club and crime watch program. She was also a member of the Townville Baptist Church, Acacia Chapter 30 of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed traveling and made trips to Alaska in 1994 and Hawaii in 1995. She also enjoyed reading, collecting recipes, baking and making quilts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harland Corliss, in 1987; an infant daughter, Barbara Jane, in 1948; and a sister, Jessie Doris Ellsworth Pond, in 1986.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Corliss Schneider and her husband, Terry, of Girard and Patricia Corliss Totten; a sister, Lucille Ellsworth Russ; good friends Gertie Tarr and Francis Werling and four grandchildren, Mackenzie and Bronson Schneider and Andrea and Russell Totten.
Friends may call at the Willis L. Arnold Funeral Home, Main Street, Townville, Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 a.m until the time of a service there at 10:30. Burial will be at Kingsley Cemetery.
