Clara Ellison Bennett was born on Feb 26, 1906 and was the daughter of Lee and Anna Ellison. She married Ralph Bennett in Clarinda, Iowa on Dec 1, 1925.
In November of 1926, they moved to the late Bryant King farm with all their possessions tied to the racks of a pickup truck. At the farm home four sons were born: Ralph Jr., Donald Joseph, Richard Lee, and Roger David.
After the death of Bryant King, the famly made two mves. They bought a farm at Burlington Jct, Mo and moved there in Jan, 1949. Ralph worked the farm and worked in a grocery store for a year. Then he became caretaker for the cemetery at Burlington Jct., In 1960, they decided to come back to Maitland. They bought the town property from Paul Leeper and re-modeled it, Ralph became the care-taker for the Graham and Quitman cemeteries.
In 1975, Ralph and Clara celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They remained in Maitland for the rest of their lives.
