Birth: Jul. 31, 1909
Death: Jul. 17, 2007

Isabel Ellison Adams quietly passed away July 17, 2007, at her home in Palm Springs, CA after a recent decline in health. She was born July 31, 1909, in Raymond, Alberta, Canada. She was the seventh child of James E. Ellison and Jane Watt Ellison. She moved back with her family to their original home in Layton, UT on Gentile Street in 1915. Isabel had a wonderful childhood growing up with her many relatives and these relationships endured throughout her life. She always looked forward to the Ellison family reunions and she was an integral part of their success. She was graduated from Davis High in 1927 and attended the University of Utah. There she joined the Tri Delta Sorority. While attending the University, she met the love of her life, Howard Chipman Adams. On April 14, 1931, she was married to Howard in the Salt Lake Temple by future Prophet David O. McKay. She and Howard lived in Salt Lake until 1941 when her husband was directed to duty at the Navy Department prior to the start of WWII. They moved to Washington, D.C. and remained there until 1970. She and Howard then relocated to San Francisco where they resided until 1973 when they moved permanently to Palm Springs, Calif. upon her husband's retirement. Isabel lived a very active life and through her husband's vocation, she was able to enjoy friendships with a few past U.S. Presidents as well as many Congressmen and Senators. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in numerous church organizations including a calling as Relief Society President. She was a master seamstress and enjoyed sewing throughout her life. She will be remembered for her intricate and award winning quilts. She was an incredible mother and she insured her children were blessed with fine educations and were presented with many great opportunities. She loved her family very, very much. She was a distinctive woman and was continually praised as a very fine lady. Isabel is survived by a loving family. She has three children and their spouses, Ann Worrell of Tacoma, WA; Howard E. (Betty) of Burlington, N.C.; and Robert E. (Ann) of Lindon, UT; 10 grandchildren (eight married with spouses) and eight great-grandchildren. Each of them will sorely miss her smile, her love, and her compassion. By her passing, she rejoins her beloved husband Howard, parents, and her seven siblings. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be Sat. July 21, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing hour will precede the funeral service. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
