Virgil was born Feb. 14, 1929, at Brashear, Mo., to Halley and Vinnie Uber Ellison. He had four brothers and two sisters: Robert A. Ellison, Alvin L. Ellison, Elmore E. Ellison, Olan Ellison, Lois I. Dennis and Lillie M. Winebriner.
He served in the U.S. Navy from April 19, 1946 to Sept. 1, 1979, with the rank of signalman second class. He retired with honorable conditions. He lived in Long Beach, Calif., from 1979 to 1981 where he worked in security. He then moved to Boise in August 1981 to be close to his family.
Virgil loved to sit in front of a warm campfire listening to the sounds around him, or sit in his favorite chair watching old movies. He also liked to play fetch with the dogs. He gave his time to family, caring for both physical and spiritual needs. He was loved by all that came in contact with him. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
Virgil is survived by his two brothers, Elmer and Louise Ellison and Olan Ellison; his sister, Lillie Winebriner; nieces, Carla and Larry Darden and Evelyn Dennis, with whom he spent the last two years; and numerous other nieces and nephews, along with their children and then their children also. Virgil, may you rest in peace and enjoy your new life. Steve.
