STAUNTON — Alice Virginia (Ellis) Brown, 88, widow of Everett Delano Brown, of 2064 Churchville Avenue, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 14, 1923, in King George County, a daughter of the late John William and Bertha (Jenkins) Ellis.
Mrs. Brown had been employed as a lab technician at the Naval Proving Grounds, Dahlgren, Va. She loved God and this country and hoped it would become great again like it used to be.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Dale Brown and three brothers, John William Jr., Samuel and Mack Ellis.
Family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald W. and Linda Brown of Waynesboro and Ricky D. and Rita Brown of Staunton; three grandchildren, Phillip Dale Brown, Ronda Painter and Melissa Allen and her husband, Jerry; and two great-granddaughters, Samantha and Alexis Allen.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel (www.henry funeralhome.net) by the Rev. William Fisher.
Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
