LEO ELLIS
Leo Ellis, son of J. D. and Emma Ellis, was born Feb. 1, 1914, near Williamson, Iowa. He passed away June 27, 1955, at the age of 41 years, four months and 26 days.
He grew to young manhood in Chariton and attended the Chariton schools. The last 10 years of his life has been spent in and around Great Falls, Mont., where he worked in machine shops, railroad work and recently on a highway construction company where he met his death.
Leo was a jolly, likeable person and loved to sing and play church songs. He also enjoyed reading his Bible and his music and song will be greatly missed by those remaining.
His father, mother, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing four sisters and three brothers, a host of nieces and other relatives.
Those remaining are a twin brother, Cleo of Marshalltown, Fred, also of Marshalltown, Colbert of Chariton, Mrs. Roy Coburn of Galesburg, Ill., Mrs. John Goben of Kansas City, Mo., Golda of Chariton and Mrs. Ronald Burgett of Oakley.
Funeral services were held at the Beardsley funeral home at 2 p.m. Friday, July 1, with the Rev. A. E. Beals officiating. Interment was in the Chariton cemetery.
