Marguerite was born in Buffalo, New York. She was married to Rev. John W. Burgar who served at First Baptist Church of La Mesa for 21 years. She taught Home Economics at Santana High School for many years after substituting in area high schools.

Marguerite was a loving mother and nurturer to her six children, 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister-in-law Dorothy Burgar, daughters, Marguerite Allen and Patricia Kammerling, as well as her sons John E. Burgar, Dr. Paul S. Burgar and J. Wesley Burgar. Her husband John W. Burgar, son David P. Burgar, and grandson John F. Burgar preceded her in death.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 21, 6-8pm at El Camino Mortuary, 8390 Allison Ave, La Mesa. A celebration of her life will be on Saturday, September 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Bailey Chapel, Mt. Miguel Covenant Village, 325 Kempton St., Spring Valley, 91977. A private burial will be held at El Camino Memorial Park. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mt.
