Rosebud Elliott Boner, widow of Martin C. "Marty" Bonar, passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday January 15, 2007. She was born March 22, 1913 in Birmingham, AL. Rosebud is survived by 1 sister, 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Rosebud supported the war effort during WWII as an artillery shell checker and then as Food Service Manager for Rheem Mfg., a major defense plant, where she supervised the feeding of 1200 workers per day. Rosebud and Marty were life-long Christians and both were active members of the Gideon Bible Society. They opened their home to the troubled youth of the 60's and 70's and led many of them to the Lord. Rosebud was well loved and will be greatly missed. Her family is rejoicing that Rosebud is reunited with Marty, her mother, 2 brothers and 4 sisters in Heaven. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 2 pm with visitation one hour prior at the Mesa Good Shepherd Villa Care Center in Mesa. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Cemetery in Los Angeles, CA. Meldrum Mortuary handled the arrangements.
