Mrs. Elkins was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was born in Hawkins County on Jan. 1, 1920. Her family said she loved flowers, her family and her home, and also enjoyed reading autobiographies and true stories.
She is survived by her son, Bill R. Elkins and his wife, Sandy; her daughter, Joyce A. Johnson; her sister, Ruth L. Davenport; and four grandchildren, James R. Elkins, Tammi J. Jones and her husband, Mitchell, R. Scott Elkins and his wife, Kristie, and Teresa L. Johnson and her husband, Michael, all of Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Elkins is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Brandon Elkins, Kaira Elkins, Meagan Jones, Eric Johnson, Gage Elkins, Chelsea Johnson and Emily Elkins, also all of Oak Ridge.
Her son-in-law, James W. Johnson, died Sept. 30, 1994.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, Sept. 3, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Steve McDonald officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the mortuary.
