Liberty St., was accidentally stragled to death yesterday afternoon when she fell in a bedroom at her home and her neck became wedged between the bedpost and footrail of an antique bed.
Dr. John P. Manges, Franklin County coroner, issued a certificate listing the cause of death as asphixia, due to strangulation. Dr. Manges said Mrs. Elder had fallen on a number of previous occasions.
Born in Chambersburg on Sept. 7, 1884, she was a daughter of the late John and Sophia Snider Kramer and the widow of John W. Elder, who died in 1925.
Mrs. Elder was a member of Zion Reformed Church.
Surviving are four sons, and a daughter; John K. Elder, at home; James H., of 1540 Alexander Ave.; Wilson H., of 343 Philadelphia Ave.; Richard W., of Coatesville, and Mrs. Elizabeth Spittler, at home; nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Sellers funeral home with the Rev. Robert Dean Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock.
