Son of Jess and Jane Eirls. John W. Eirls was born November 30, 1880 in Moniteau County. He married Miss Bessie Swearingen at California on May 20, 1903, and they just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past May. John died Wednesday at his home in Sedalia, at the age of 88 years.

He was preceded in death by his only sibling, his sister, Mrs. Lizzie Keeran. He is survived by two sons, Charles and Norman, and two daughters, Mrs. Alma Weikal, and Mrs. T. E. Owen. - Sedalia Democrat - Thursday, December 5, 1968 pg.4
