Services for Mrs. Dovie Box held July 15
Services for Mrs. Dovie Eiland Box were held Sunday, July 15 at the Milligan Springs Baptist Church. Rev George Lee Faulkner of Sidon officiated. Mrs. Box died at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Greenwood July 13, after an illness of several years.
Interment was in the church cemetery with Winona Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Box was born September 10, 1876 in Webster County and was married to Lon L. Box in 1908. She was a member of the Stewart Baptist Church
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C. R. Davis, Cleveland, Mrs. H. A. Grubbs, Kilmichael, one foster son, Luther Shepperd, Cleveland, one brother, Alsie Eiland, Jackson, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Paul Box, McKnight Eiland, Roy Jacks, Otto Tierce, Glynn Box, Howard Eiland and Arnold Jacks.

Dovie's parents were Enoch and Martha James Eiland. It is unknown where Enoch is buried, although both of his wives are buried in Milligan Springs, but in 1930 he was widowed and living with his daughter Dovey and her husband Lonnie Box in Bolivar County, MS. Dovie's grandparents, Bryant and Lydia Whatley Eiland are also buried in Milligan Springs Cemetery.
