Mrs. Ada D. Birkenbine, 74, of 74 N. Charlotte St., Manheim, died suddenly early Saturday morning in the parking lot of the Manheim Brethren Church, East High St., while waiting to board a bus for a trip to Washington, D.C. She had been under a physician's care.
She was the widow of William S. Birkenbine, who passed away Oct. 10, 1972.
She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fire Company, VFW 5958 Auxiliary, Navy Mothers Club, Golden Hours Club and Democratic Club.
She was a retired employee of the former William H. Noggle & Sons, Co.
Born in Rothsville, she was a daughter of the late George and Emma Donmoyer Eichelberger.
She is survived by three children, Elmer E. Birkenbine, East Petersburg; Alverta E., wife of Jacob W. Nissley, Manheim R1; and Darlene E., wife of Ernest J. Ferretti, Strasburg R1.
She is also suvived by seven grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters; Harry Eichelberger, Brunnerville; Elizabeth, wife of David Bender, East Petersburg; Lillie, wife of Robert Hassler, Ephrata; Mabel, wife of Arthur Mohn, Akron; Leroy Eichelberger, Akron; and Irvin Eichelberger, Mount Joy.
