Rexel C. Egnor, 79, of Morrisvale, died Friday, May 10, 2013.

He was born on February 2, 1934 and was a son of the late Roy Bryant Egnor and Ruby Pearl Egnor. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Lucille Egnor; brothers, Conard, Ronald and Billy Joe; sisters, Connie Lou and Jeraldine; step-father, Ozie Linville; and grandson, Brian Blevins.

He is survived by four sons, Danny (Becky), Ronald (Nikki) and Billy (Mary) all of Morrisvale and Scottie (Paula) of Hurricane; and one daughter, Debra (Roy) Blevins of Nitro. He leaves behind ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends; as well as four special nephews, RD, Steve and Gary Stowers and Danny Huffman.

Rexel was retired from Bethlehem Steel of Baltimore, Md. and Hobet Mining of Julian, W.Va. He was a UMWA member of Local 17.

The family would like to thank Carrie, Elaine, Lee, Hope and Gail from Boone Home Health and Sally, Heather and Libby from Hospice for their special care of our Daddy.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 13 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev. Arthur Hensley officiating. Singing provided by Buddy and Abby McClure.

Burial will follow in Egnor Family Cemetery at Left Fork, Alkol.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, at the funeral home.
