Funeral services for Mrs. Bobbye Edwards Barlow, 67, of Itta Bena were held Thursday, May 17 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Itta Bena. Officiating ministers were Rev. George Meadows and Rev. Higdon Herrington. Burial was in Itta Bena Cemetery of Itta Bena with Wilson & Knight Funeral Home of Greenwood in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Barlow died of heart failure on Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood.
Born in the Chester Community of Choctaw County, she had been a resident of Itta Bena since she was three years old. She was a graduate of Humphries High School in Itta Bena and attended Sunflower Jr. College at Moorhead, where she was a cheerleader. She owned and operated Mine & Yours Antiques & Accents for about 15 years. Mrs. Barlow was a member of First Baptist Church of Itta Bena where she was a choir member, she was a homemaker and a member of the Itta Bena Women's Club.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Marguerite Edwards.
Survivors include: husband, Raymond Barlow of Itta Bena; daughter, Donna Diggs of Tchula; sons, Mike Barlow of Laurel and Dennis Barlow of Itta Bena; two sisters, Margie Nell Tanner of Gardengrove, California, Johnnie Picard of Lafayette, Louisiana; two brothers, William T. Edwards of Cantonement, Florida and L. Pittman Edwards of Cleveland; and nine grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were William Raby, Jimmy Moore, George Saunders, Vonzell Self, Richie Fulgham, James Griffin, Phil Kelly and Ricky Williams.
Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Prestidge, J. W. Mims, and present and past deacons of First Baptist Church of Itta Bena.
Memorials may be made to Baptist Children's Village, Jackson, MS.
