VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Mae Arvie, 70, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church here with burial in the church cemetery in Tate Cove. The Rev. Eradly Ben Sr. will conduct the services.
Mrs. Arvie died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, in Ville Platte Medical Center.
Survivors include: her husband, Willery Arvie Sr. of Ville Platte; six daughters, Linda Tezeno and Pat Thomas, both of Plaisance, Darlene Arvie Lewis of Opelousas, Barbara Arvie of New Iberia, Katina Arvie and Rackel Arvie, both of Lafayette; six sons, Leandrus Arvie of Texas City, Texas, Jimmy Arvie of Crowley, Floyd Arvie of Ville Platte, Willery Arvie Jr. of Opelousas, Clayton Arvie of Ville Platte and Burney Arvie of Plaisance; five brothers, Elton Edwards of Welsh, Hayward Edwards of Lafayette, Lee Edwards of Plaisance, Leo Edwards Jr. of Ville Platte and Chester Edwards of Mamou; six sisters, Mable Senegal of Lafayette, Iris Johnson and Carayn Sam, both of Ville Platte, Joycelyn Gallow, Mary Jane Acclise and Louella Thomas, all of Opelousas; 37 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Arvie was preceded in death by her mother, Lula Edwards; her father, Leo Edwards; a son, Ellery Arvie; a sister, Lou Anna Senegal; and two brothers, Hillery and Linton Edwards.
