Local Woman's Sister Dies at Jonesville January 16
Mrs. Mell Bena [sic Vena] Boyd, 53 years of age, of Jonesville who died January 16 at her home in Jonesville was laid to rest in the Pine Grove Cemetery on January 17 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Shirley Briggs officiating.
Mrs. Boyd was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Edwards, and has been a resident of Jonesville for the past 29 years, moving here from Rhinehart.
Mrs. Boyd was well known throughout this section and her passing is mourned by her many friends.
Surviving were C. E. Boyd, Sr., husband; Mrs. H. S. Marlett, Clayton, Mrs. W. R. Robertson, Jena, La.; Mrs. O. M. Gibson, Jonesville; Mrs. Alex Hemphill, Pineville; Mrs. Hans Crawford, Jonesville; Mrs. Tom Fields, Jonesville; daughters; James Boyd, Jr., and Billy Boyd, sons, all of Jonesville, and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services were in charge of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home.
