Edith Edwards Bowlin Masden

Edith Edwards Bowlin Masden, 90, of Dresden, died Sunday, September 28, 2008, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services for Mrs. Masden were held Friday, October 3, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Dresden. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden. Dr. Don McCulley officiated the services.
Mrs. Masden was a licensed funeral director and a member of the Dresden First Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Martin High School and UTJC in Martin. Mrs. Masden was born in Gleason to the late Charles Macon and Velma Cheek Allman Edwards, Sr.. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Masden was also preceded in death by two husbands, S.T. Bowlin and Woodrow Masden; a stepson, Dr. Ron Masden; two sisters, Elisabeth Darnell and Margaret Settle Barton; and a brother, Charles Macon Edwards, Jr.
Mrs. Masden is survived by a stepdaughter, Dr. Penny Copas of Bowling Green, Kentucky; a stepson, Rev. Dan Masden of Danville, Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Aileen Campbell Edwards of Sharon; and seven nephews, Tommy Edwards of Knoxville, Jim Edwards of Bolivar, Tennessee, Sid Settle of Franklin, Ed Settle of Nashville, Charles Henry Darnell of Dresden, George Darnell of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Gene Darnell of Louisburg, North Carolina.
