Flora Edwards Bastian, our beautiful and special mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away peacefully, age 83, April 2, 2003.

Flora was born in Providence, Utah June 16, 1919 to Flora and Morgan Edwards. She had one beloved brother, Morgan. Flora remained in Logan until she was 22, where she had many fond memories and friends. She married Ralph W. Bastian in 1942 and moved to Riverton, Utah where they raised their three children, Barbara, Kent, and Gary, and lived for many years. They later moved to Sandy, Utah.

During her and Ralph's 53 years together they had many adventures and experiences. They loved life and lived it fully. They had an entrepreneurial spirit, whether it was owning one of the largest ranches in South Idaho, to owning Mack's Inn Resort, also in Idaho, to running off to see their horses race; life to them was an adventure. They dared to dream the dreams and had the courage and good fortune to make them happen. They loved to dance together, and we're sure they're dancing again now.

Flora was truly a beautiful, sweet soul whose favorite things included her animals, jewelry, flowers, and Teddy Bears. She loved her family very much. Her friendship and wisdom will be greatly missed.

She was a member of the Utah Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The family would like to thank the healthcare staff of Draper Rehab Center for their kindness in helping care for her.

She is survived by her three children: Barbara (Henry) Day, Kent (Kathy) Bastian, and Gary (Gloria) Bastian; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her brother, and two grandsons.

As per her wishes, there will be a private viewing and graveside services. Following the services, friends and family are invited to a celebration of her life on Saturday, April 5, 2003 which will be held at her home, 10921 S. Bay Meadows Circle from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
