Mrs. Rosa Ellen Crookshanks of Corcoran died early this morning in a Hanford hospital at the age of 82. A native of McCune, Kan., she had lived in tkis area for the past 53 years. Mrs. Crookshanks came toWaukenainl915, moving to Fresno in 1937 where she was employed by Fresno State College as a house mother for the Beta Kappa Fraternity House. She moved to Corcoran in 1943 where she became quite active in civic and school affairs. She was given a life membership by the Corcoran PTA and was selected Woman of the Year in 1964. In addition, Mrs. Crookshanks was a member of the United Methodist Church of Corcoran, a member and past president of the Corcoran American Legion Auxiliary and the Corcoran Eastern Star. Survivors include two sons, Edward and Sam, both of Corcoran; a daughter, Mrs. Marie Robertson of Corcoran; three brothers, Dan Edgecomb of Fresno, Sam Edgecomb of Hanford, and J. L. Edgecomb of Sayre, Okla.; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Hargrove of Walsh, Colo., eight grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren. Those wishing may contribute to the memorial fund of the United Methodist Church or the Cancer Society. F uneral services will be held in Corcoran United Methodist Church on Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the Tulare District Cemetery under the direction of the Peoples Funeral Chapel.
