Alvin L. Edens, 58, of Fayetteville, died Jan. 31, 1990, at a Fayetteville hospital. He was born Dec. 29, 1931, in Madison County, the son of Leonard and Elsie Simmons Edens. He had been employed at the University of Arkansas Physical Plant for 21 years.

Survivors include his widow, Marie Edens of the home; one son, Alvin Edens, Jr. of Fayetteville; two daughters, Patricia Moore of West Fork and Karen Saintignon of Mayfield; his stepmother, Pearl Edens of Springdale; one stepson, David Leon Stephens of Elkins; four stepdaughters, Frances Fulton of Mineola, Tex., Charlotte Gage and Kathy Wilson, both of Fayetteville, and Lois Osburn of Baldwin; three brothers, Jerry Edens and Hershel Edens, both of Springdale, and Bob Edens of Illinois; four sisters, Gloria Day, Freida Brums and Lois Kent, all of Springdale, and Shirley Lemons of Fayetteville; six grandchildren; and 12 stepgrandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville with the Rev. Jim Collins officiating. Burial was in Bentonville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Gary Osburn, David Stephens, John Gage, Danny Wilson, Dan Saintignon and Bobby Ball.
